YOUNG LIFE AFRICA/MIDDLE EAST FUN FACTS:
Young Life ministry actually began in Africa a little over 20 years ago, and continues to grow rapidly. Now reaching teenagers in 27 countries (including the Middle East), and last year alone, 1,032,048 kids were known by name, 185, 514 came to weekly outreach meetings (aka,‘club’), and 83,785 gathered weekly for small group Bible study (aka, ‘campaigners’)!
BTA FUN FACTS:
In 2011 when BTA began, we had: 18 performers, 3 band members , and just a few on our costume team. Using a stellar evening of Broadway "Song and Dance," our hope was to not only raise some monies for African women in ministry, but also enlighten people about ALL God was up to in Africa and invite them to participate!
HISTORY:
14 years later, with 80+ performers, a full band, 5 directors, and over 50 costuming volunteers, we now "focus" our proceeds toward teens. We remain a community of people offering their time, talent, hearts, and creativity for the sole purpose of providing an opportunity for African and Middle Eastern teenagers (nearly 4,000 in 2023) to experience the love of Jesus at a Young Life camp in their home country (with indigenous leaders)!
